The remote high plateau of Changthang (meaning “northern plains”) stretches from western Tibet into eastern Ladakh. Known as the land of nomads, this vast region offers a rare insight into traditional pastoral life. Experience the Changpa nomads, visit their yak-hair tents, and witness the striking beauty of Tso Moriri Lake, whose turquoise hues change with the light. The area forms part of a protected high-altitude wildlife sanctuary, home to Himalayan wildlife such as snow leopards, Tibetan wild asses (kiang), and migratory birds.
