This scenic trek links some of the oldest and most significant monasteries of Ladakh, many associated with the great translator Lotsawa Rinchen Zangpo (10th–11th century). Lamayuru, Wanla, Mangyu, and Alchi are renowned for their early Indo-Tibetan art, murals, and historical importance. The route combines dramatic mountain landscapes with living Buddhist heritage, making it one of Ladakh’s most culturally rich treks.
