Places Covered: Darjeeling – Goechala – Pemayangtse – Gangtok
This is undoubtedly the most popular trek in Sikkim, renowned for its superb mountain views, vibrant floral displays during summer, rich birdlife, and pristine forest landscapes. The trail passes through the Kanchenjunga Biosphere Reserve, and special trekking permits are required and arranged as per regulations.
Day 01: Bagdogra / Bhadrapur (Nepal) – Gangtok
Arrival at Bagdogra or Bhadrapur (Nepal). After a traditional ‘Swagat’ (welcome), our representative will assist you at the airport and transfer you to Gangtok after completing entry formalities. Approximate driving time is 4–5 hours. Halt on arrival.
Day 02: Gangtok City Sightseeing
Proceed for local sightseeing in Gangtok, including a visit to the Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre and the International Flower Festival.
Day 03: Gangtok – Yuksom (Sikkim)
Drive from Gangtok to Yuksom, the base village for the trek in western Sikkim, via Ravangla and Tashiding. Approximate travel time is 6–7 hours. Overnight halt at Yuksom.
Day 04: Trek Begins – Yuksom to Tshoka
Altitude: 2,048 m | Distance: 12 km | Duration: approx. 6 hours. Overnight in tents or trekking huts.
Day 05: Trek Tshoka to Dzongri
Altitude: 4,050 m | Distance: 9 km | Duration: approx. 5 hours. Overnight in tents or huts.
Day 06: Trek Dzongri to Thangsing
Altitude: 3,930 m | Distance: 8 km | Duration: approx. 4 hours. Overnight in tents or huts.
Day 07: Trek Thangsing to Samiti
Trek duration approximately 3 hours. Camp at Samiti.
Day 08: Trek Samiti to Goechala and Back
Early morning trek from Samiti to Goechala Pass (4,940 m) and return to Samiti. Total trekking time approximately 6 hours.
Day 09: Samiti to Thangsing
Trek duration approximately 6 hours. Overnight in tents or huts.
Day 10: Thangsing to Tshoka
Trek downhill through alpine forests to Tshoka. Overnight halt.
Day 11: Tshoka to Yuksom
Trek duration approximately 5 hours. Arrival at Yuksom and overnight halt.
Day 12: Yuksom – Pemayangtse via Khecheopalri Lake
Drive to Pemayangtse, visiting the sacred Khecheopalri Lake en route. Lunch followed by a visit to Pemayangtse Monastery and the Rabdentse Palace ruins. Overnight halt.
Day 13: Pemayangtse – Darjeeling
After breakfast, drive to Darjeeling via the scenic Rangit Tea Gardens. Approximate distance is 100 km with a driving time of about 5 hours. Lunch en route. Afternoon free for a leisurely walk along the Mall Road and tea shopping. Overnight halt.
Day 14: Darjeeling
Early morning excursion to Tiger Hill (approx. 4:00 am to 7:30 am) to witness the sunrise over the Himalayan range. Return for breakfast and continue with Darjeeling city sightseeing. Lunch, followed by free time in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 15: Darjeeling – Bhadrapur
Drive to Bhadrapur for your onward flight. Tour concludes. We thank you for your patronage and ensure a punctual transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
