Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, located along the banks of the Bagmati River. Formerly the seat of Nepal’s national deity, the temple complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major center of Hindu pilgrimage.

Located approximately 4 km from Kathmandu city, this ancient Buddhist stupa is believed to be over 2,000 years old. The white dome and gilded spire are adorned with the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. The hilltop complex is dotted with chaityas and pagoda-style temples.
Patan
Situated about 5 km from Kathmandu, Patan—also known as Lalitpur—is renowned as the city of fine arts. Enclosed by four stupas said to have been erected by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BC, Patan is home to Durbar Square, the Krishna Temple, Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, and Mahabouddha Temple.
