Day 01: Delhi – Leh (3500m)
Arrive in Leh, receive assistance upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. The afternoon is at leisure to rest and acclimatize, with an option to take a gentle walk to the colourful local bazaar.

Day 02: Leh Monasteries
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day tour of the monasteries around Leh, visiting Shankar, Spituk and Phyang Monasteries. Later in the afternoon, stroll around Leh town, exploring the Leh Market, Leh Palace ruins, Leh Gompa and the serene Shanti Stupa.

Day 03: Leh
Excursion to Shey, Thiksey, Hemis
Today we proceed for an Indus Valley monastery tour, beginning with Shey, the ancient capital of Ladakh. The monastery houses a magnificent gold-gilded statue of Buddha Sakyamuni with a large silver lamp burning continuously before it.

Continue to Thiksey Gompa, an impressive complex rising tier upon tier above the village, famous for its 30m-high gold-plated statue of Maitreya Buddha. Proceed to the renowned Hemis Gompa, founded in the 1630s and known as one of the richest monasteries in Ladakh.

Hemis is famous for its annual two-day monastic festival dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava, known as the “Second Buddha.” Later in the evening, return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 04: Leh – Lamayuru (124 km / 4 hrs) – Alchi (50 km / 2 hrs)
After breakfast, enjoy some leisure time before driving towards Alchi. En route, visit the spectacular Lamayuru Monastery, one of the oldest monastic establishments in Ladakh, founded by Rinchen Zangpo in the 10th century. Surrounded by dramatic mountains, the monastery is known for its ancient murals, thangkas and unique landscapes.

Experience a peaceful prayer ceremony with the monks before continuing to Alchi. Just before arriving, we cross the mighty Indus River and reach Alchi Monastery, famous for its century-old wall paintings resembling those of Tabo Monastery in Spiti. Unlike most monasteries built on hilltops, Alchi sits at ground level amidst a tranquil garden.

Day 05: Alchi – Likir – Basgo – Leh (124 km / 4 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Likir Monastery, located on a windy ridge overlooking the beautiful village below. Founded in the 12th century, it features a striking three-storey gilded statue of the Buddha and a museum of ancient thangkas and weapons.

Continue 9 km to Basgo, once the capital of lower Ladakh. Visit the Basgo Palace ruins, Ser Zung Temple and a temple housing an enormous gold and copper statue of Maitreya Buddha. Later, return to Leh (3521m) and check in at the hotel. Evening at leisure.

Day 06: Leh – Chumathang – Tso Moriri Lake (Korzok Monastery) (4572m) (227 km / 9–10 hrs)
After an early breakfast, drive towards the enchanting Tso Moriri Lake. Travel along the Indus River through narrow valleys, sandy stretches and rugged terrain. En route, visit Chumathang, famous for its medicinal hot springs, and pass through Sumdah village.

Before reaching the lake, witness a scenic valley inhabited by wild marmots (Phya). Arrive at Korzok village (4572m) in the evening and check in at the camp. Korzok, with its barley fields, is one of the highest permanent settlements in the world. Visit the ancient Korzok Monastery in the evening.

Day 07: Tso Moriri Lake – Tso Khar Lake – Tanglang La Pass – Leh
After breakfast, drive to Mahe village and head towards the Puga Valley, known for its sacred stream, sulphur springs and natural geysers. Continue via Polokongka Pass (4116m) to the striking Tso Khar Lake (4485m), also called the “White Lake” because of the salt deposits around its edges.

The region is home to the Kiang (Tibetan Wild Ass), often seen roaming in herds. Rejoin the Leh–Manali highway and drive over the spectacular Tanglang La Pass (5329m), one of the highest motorable passes in the world. Pass the villages of Rumtse, Gya, Miru and Lato before reaching Leh and checking in.

Day 08: Leh to Hunder (Nubra Valley) (126 km / approx. 6 hrs)
After an early breakfast, drive to the breathtaking Nubra Valley via the famous Khardung La Pass (18,390 ft), one of the highest motorable roads in the world.

Nubra Valley, also known as “Ldumra” or the Valley of Flowers, lies between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges. Arrive in Hunder by afternoon. The rest of the day is free to explore Hunder and Diskit villages.

Day 09: Hunder (Nubra Valley) – Leh
After breakfast, visit the sand dunes to enjoy an optional camel safari. Later, drive back to Leh via Khardung La. Afternoon is free to relax or explore the local market.

Day 10: Leh – Delhi
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Himalayas during your departure.
