Day 01 : Arrive Leh
Arrive at Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, renowned for one of the most scenic flight approaches in the Himalayas, offering dramatic views of rugged mountains and deep valleys on clear days. Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is reserved for complete rest and acclimatization to the high altitude, followed by welcome tea or coffee at the hotel.
In the evening, visit the historic Leh Palace, the serene Shanti Stupa, and stroll through the vibrant Leh Market. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Leh to Sham Valley (75 Kms / 4 Hrs)
After breakfast, drive downstream along the Indus River via the Leh–Kargil Highway. En route, visit Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, followed by a stop at the intriguing Magnetic Hill. Continue to the spectacular confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, where the contrasting colors of the two rivers create a striking visual.
Just before Saspul, take a short detour to Likir Monastery, one of Ladakh’s most active monasteries, famed for its impressive open-air statue of Maitreya Buddha. Continue along the Indus River towards Uletokpo or Tingmosgang, visiting the peaceful and remote Ridzong Monastery, dramatically located at the end of a narrow gorge. After sightseeing, proceed to your hotel or camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03: Sham Valley to Leh via Lamayuru (180 Kms / 5–6 Hrs)
After breakfast, drive to the ancient Lamayuru Monastery, dating back to the 11th century, passing through the famous Moonland terrain, known for its unique lunar-like formations.
On the return journey to Leh, visit the remarkable Alchi Gompa, one of Ladakh’s oldest monasteries, celebrated for its exquisite wall paintings and wood carvings. Continue to Basgo, the former capital of Ladakh in the 15th century, known for its dramatic hilltop ruins and temples.
Arrive in Leh by late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04: Leh to Pangong Lake (140 Kms / 4–5 Hrs – One Way)
After an early breakfast, depart for the breathtaking Pangong Lake. En route, visit Shey Palace, the former summer capital of Ladakh, and the well-known Druk White Lotus School, popularly referred to as the “3 Idiots School.” Continue to Thiksey Monastery, an impressive hilltop complex resembling the Potala Palace in Lhasa.
Proceed towards the high-altitude Changla Pass (approx. 5,360 m), one of the highest mountain passes in the region. After a brief stop, descend to Tangtse village before continuing across the vast Changthang plateau to reach the iconic Pangong Lake, situated at an altitude of about 4,267 m (14,000 ft).
This stunning high-altitude lake stretches over 133 km, with nearly one-third in India and the remaining portion extending into Tibet.
On arrival, check in at your lakeside camp. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
Day 05: Pangong Lake to Leh (140 Kms / 6 Hrs)
Wake up early to experience the changing colors of Pangong Lake in the morning light. After breakfast, drive back to Leh, visiting Hemis Monastery, the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh and the spiritual center of the Drukpa lineage. Continue onward to Leh for check-in and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06: Leh – Excursion to Khardungla Top (39 Kms / 2 Hrs One Way)
After breakfast, embark on an excursion to Khardung La, regarded as one of the highest motorable mountain passes in the world. From the top, enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the Indus Valley and the distant Zanskar and Saser mountain ranges.
Return to Leh for lunch. The afternoon is free for shopping, leisure, or exploring the town at your own pace. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 07: Depart Leh
Tour concludes. We thank you for your patronage and ensure a timely transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey.
